The July 2026 update lets properties take direct bookings from their own website without paying commission, move bookings by dragging them on a rebuilt calendar, and filter every report by room group.

Victoria, Australia, July 2026: iMagic Software today announced the July 2026 update to Sticky Guest, its cloud-based hotel management software. The update adds a Guest Calendar Widget that embeds a property’s availability in its own website, so guests can book directly and the property pays no commission. Each booking appears in the Sticky Guest calendar automatically, and staff receive a notification.

The update also replaces the Advanced Calendar with a rebuilt Version 3, adds room group filtering and column selection to the reports, and introduces a Document Template Builder and an in-app help system. Two features, direct guest emails and an iCalendar export feed, are released as experimental so customers can try them and send feedback. The update is live for all Sticky Guest users.

“Direct bookings are the ones a property keeps in full, so the website widget is a major part of this update. The rebuilt calendar then gives staff a faster way to manage every booking that comes in, whether it arrives through the widget or at the front desk,” said J Walker, Tech Lead at iMagic Software.

Direct bookings from a property’s own website

The Guest Calendar Widget shows a calendar of a property’s availability on its website. Guests who book through it go straight into the property’s calendar, with no commission and no re-entry by staff. A notification tells the team when a booking arrives.

The widget is set up from Settings, under Integrations, by choosing Guest Calendar. Once it is set up, the calendar can be embedded in the property’s website.

A calendar that moves with the front desk

Staff can now move a booking to a different room or date by dragging it across the Advanced Calendar. Clicking a booking opens a summary popup, so a team member can check the details without leaving the calendar.

Version 3 has two layouts. Rooms can run along the top with days scrolling sideways, or days can run along the top with rooms scrolling. A compact mode fits properties with many rooms, cell width and height can be adjusted in Calendar Settings, and the selected date stays in place when switching between calendar views. Customers who prefer the previous calendar can switch back at any time in General Settings.

Reports that show only what matters

Every major report now has a Room Group filter, including Arrivals and Departures, Reservations, Outstanding Balance, Statistics, Cleaning, Guest Billing, Guest Deposit, Guest Payment and Referral. Most report grids also have a column chooser, so teams can hide fields they do not use.

The Outstanding Balance Report can be filtered to bills overdue by a set number of days, for example 30 or more, which helps staff decide which accounts to follow up first. From the Cancelled Reservation Report, users can now open the full details of a cancelled booking instead of seeing only that it was cancelled.

Documents and guest email

The new Document Template Builder lets users create and customise document templates with drag and drop. The templates can also be used to design layouts for guest emails.

Experimental features

Two features are available for testing under Integrations. Direct Guest Emails lets staff email a guest from the reservation details page. The iCalendar Export Feed publishes a property’s calendar data so that other applications, such as Booking.com, can subscribe to it. Both may change as customer feedback comes in.

Help and feedback inside the app

A help icon in the top right corner of each page opens a sidebar with guides for that page, and a feedback button beside it opens a form for suggestions and issue reports. A What’s New link has been added to the main menu.

Fixes and platform changes

The update fixes missing month names in the calendar date dropdown, an incorrect calendar start date for users in Australian timezones, and a flicker in the main menu on page load. Sticky Guest now runs on .NET 10, and database efficiency has been improved, which makes the app faster. No action is needed from customers.

Pricing and availability

The July 2026 update is live for all Sticky Guest users and is free for all existing customers. Plans and pricing are listed at stickyguest.com/pricing. Customers with questions can contact tech@stickyguest.com.
